Dropout research

There is a great deal of research on the dropout crisis facing American high school students.  Over 1,000,000 American high school students drop out of school every year.  This number roughly equals the size of the San Jose, California!  Project SOAR targets these children and provides them with the academic and emotional supports to greatly improve their success.  The Project SOAR research proves it!  The following links provide research links examining the dropout crisis in the United States.

Current Research on American Dropout Crisis

research initiative by Johns Hopkins University found that "students who are most at risk of dropping out of school can be identified as early as middle school through key indicators - poor attendance, unsatisfactory behavior and course failure in math and English.  When one of these off-track indicators is exhibited by a child as early as the 6th grade, students have a 10%-20% likelihood of graduating from high school."  Project SOAR address each of these areas and has evidence-based research of its positive impact on students.  Click on Project SOAR Control Study for evidence-based research on the Project SOAR initiative.
