Cradle Beach employs 18 year-round staff who work annually at our office in Angola. This staff maintains the property, implements the camper application process, provides marketing, organizes fundraising events, and handles accounting and program support.

For more information about employment at Cradle Beach, please contact Debbie Filbey at (716)-549-6307 ext 217 or dfilbey@cradlebeach.org

AmeriCorps

We hire Project S.O.A.R. mentors through our relationship with AmeriCorps. Mentors serve in Buffalo public schools to provide academic, social-emotional, and attendance support to students. Applicants must be 18 years or older, have a high-school diploma, and some college experience.

AmeriCorps members receive an education award up to $5,800, professional development, health care, and a living stipend.

Summer Staff

Every summer Cradle Beach will hire approximately 115 summer staff to serve as counselors, supervisors, program staff and lifeguards who work directly with campers during the camp session. Cradle Beach counselors are paid a stipend for their work, but all food and lodging are provided by the Cradle Beach while summer camp is in session.

Each of our counselors is required to be at least 18 and have at least 1 year of college.  Each new counselor attends a week long pre-camp training session, led by the Director of Campus Based Services and returning staff. Many counselors are actively pursuing careers in education, special education, recreation therapy, nursing, and social work.
